About me
My interest in mental health began as a sibling to an individual with Autism. My first-hand experience gave me a deeper sense of compassion and a unique perspective of living in a household impacted by the condition. I deeply empathize with the heartbreak of seeing someone you love struggle, and more so knowing that they can do so much more when given adequate support. I believe that you are not defined by your problems, rather you have the capacity to make positive changes in the quality of your life, and it is my job to help draw that from within you.
In my work, I foster a safe space where you can begin to unpack your lived experiences without judgment. This allows you to undergo a journey of self-exploration and self-awareness that leads to healing. For some, it can be difficult to articulate emotions and experiences so I use expressive arts and play to meet my clients where they're at.
I am familiar with the Filipino culture and the challenges of being an immigrant as I relate to the common feelings of isolation and loneliness caused by relocation. As an immigrant, cultural sensitivity is a foundational piece of my worldview. My approach is open and non-judgmental. I consider the process of holding refuge for you a true privilege.
